Precise chemical thresholds
Measured mixing ratios and a hard ceiling of 0.5% sodium hypochlorite on delicate surfaces — never a guessed mix.
THE SCOPE FRAMEWORK
Our official 10-point standard for certified asset protection. Every contractor on the SoftCoat® platform is SafeContractor certified and must work through all ten points, in order, on every job.
SCOPE CERTIFIEDSoftCoat Code of Practice Environmental · 10-point standardMeasured mixing ratios and a hard ceiling of 0.5% sodium hypochlorite on delicate surfaces — never a guessed mix.
Planting, ponds and drainage protected, with controlled rinsing and dilution protocols on every site.
Scientific asset protection replaces high-pressure guesswork. Uncertified, uninsured operators are not listed.
Every job starts by identifying the substrate — vinyl, GRP, powder-coated aluminium, painted timber, render, stone or block — because the surface dictates everything that follows.
Oxidised and chalking surfaces are tested and recorded before any product is applied, so cleaning never strips or dulls a finish that is already weathered.
Operatives must understand what each chemical does, how it reacts with the identified surface, its dwell time and its neutralisation — no guesswork, no all-purpose mixes.
Ratios are measured, not estimated. Sodium hypochlorite is capped at a maximum of 0.5% on delicate surfaces such as static home panels and coated finishes.
Low-pressure soft wash systems and correctly rated tips only. High-pressure lances are never used on delicate exteriors.
A written COSHH assessment and a site-specific risk assessment are completed and available before work begins.
Correct, in-date personal protective equipment for the exact products in use — eye, respiratory, skin and footwear protection worn throughout.
Planting, lawns, ponds and drainage are protected, pre-wetted and covered, with controlled rinsing and dilution protocols so run-off is neutralised and diluted safely.
Full public liability and treatment-risk cover appropriate to the asset value, evidenced and in date before a contractor is approved.
The finished asset is inspected, documented with before-and-after evidence and signed off — protection of the asset, not just the appearance, is the measure of success.
